Peruvian Music

To listen to a sample of music from last night's dinner, please click on the title of this blog "Peruvian Music". This will bring you to my audio file. You can choose to download it or play the file directly from the web. Please excuse the audio quality, I am still learning how to use my digital recorder. That still doesn't stop me from listening anyway, the music is wonderful!

Oh! That's "El Condor Pasa (If I Could) by Simon & Garfunkel!

...nevermind - I just wiki'ed it...it was actually written by Peruvian composer, Daniel Alomia Robles, in 1913 and is based on a traditional Andean folk tune. Wiki says it's possibly the best known Peruvian folktune worldwide... and it was covered by Simon and Garfunkel later on...and Paul Simon used only the melody and wrote entirely new, unrelated lyrics....
